Meet the
Curiocity Learning Squad 🦹
Hey Curious Explorer 👋
I'm Kobus du Toit — the founder of Curiocity Learning. My background spans 15+ years of experience in progressive education, as a teacher, trainer, facilitator, learning experience designer & manager of co-learning spaces
I design and facilitate learning experiences that transform cities into learning playgrounds and train educators to do the same
My work is guided by these three principles:
  1. Learning lives everywhere — at recreation centres, parks, public libraries, museums, office buildings, colleges, community gardens, theatres, churches, homes, and in backyards. But, today’s education system assumes meaningful learning only happens at a place called “school”.
  1. Leverage the city's ecosystem of learning — partner with existing learning service providers and spaces of learning in the city to design high quality, engaging learning excursions
  1. Keep it accessible - offer sponsored learning excursions to underserved communities in Cape Town and access to 21st century learning tools

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you ensure the safety of children?
The children's safety comes first. Children are supervised and guided throughout the learning excursion by expert facilitators and caring adults, who are trained in group facilitation and possess police clearance certificates. Learning excursions are planned in neighbourhoods and areas which are kid and pedestrian friendly, and are screened and tested before children are permitted to join them.
